Yapılış Tarihi | 05 August 2024, Monday

Biomedical Device Technology is at the forefront of sectors with thousands of high value-added devices and product outputs in light of developments in the field of research and development. The maintenance, repair and calibration of these devices, most of which are imported from abroad and quite expensive, can only be provided with well-trained technical personnel in this field for the economy of the country and the efficient and effective provision of health services. This situation increases the need for personnel with technical and scientific knowledge who will carry out the design and development studies of biomedical systems and take part in the efficient use of the systems day by day.
The Biomedical Device Technology program will train technicians who know the sector and have the capacity to solve future problems. It aims to train intermediate staff who will work in the assembly, technical operation, maintenance and repair of devices and devices used for diagnosis and treatment in the health field.
In our country, in recent years, there are also studies of the Ministry of Health aimed at increasing technical service support for biomedical devices at the corporate level as well as private companies. Studies are ongoing to improve this sector and service power. For this purpose, great steps are being taken to establish and develop biomedical centers in hospitals. In these centers, it is aimed to meet the need for qualified technicians in the sector in areas such as Medical Imaging Systems, Medical Laboratory and Patient External Application Devices, Life Support and Treatment Devices and Physiological Signal Monitoring Diagnosis and Recording Devices.
Graduates of biomedical device technicians are aimed to be trained as technicians who can establish their own businesses with their own initiatives; They are expected to work in public and private hospitals, laboratories, dispensaries, factories making medical devices, repair and maintenance workshops or services of medical devices. Therefore, their working environments vary according to their workplaces. They are constantly in communication with doctors, nurses and other hospital staff in business life. Graduates can also register for undergraduate programs with the vertical transfer exam (DGS) in their field, benefiting from the provisions of the "Regulation on the Continuation of Vocational High Schools and Open Education Associate Degree Graduates to Undergraduate Education".
